Juliana Pinheiro Landim has been an activist and organizer for the last 9 years. She started in her native Brazil by forming the Paz pela Paz (Peace for Peace) Coalition, which advocates peaceful conflict resolution strategies. She lobbied the Brazilian congress while spearheading the movement to attain federal approval for the state of Pernambuco's now officially recognized "Peace Day". Mrs. Landim also managed a food distribution program that collected leftovers and contributions from 26 restaurants and distributed it to impoverished families. Since her arrival in the US in 2001, Juliana has been an active organizer with the DC Anti-War Network. In addition to her work with the DC Resistance Media Collective, she also sits on the Board of Directors of the Washington Peace Center.
